This building was built at the beginning of the 18th century, probably after the fire of 1693 which destroyed the neighborhood. In the 20th century it became the "Lavigerie Institute" after Cardinal Lavigerie, archbishop of Algiers and founder of the Confraternity of the White Fathers. Today it houses the Tribunal of the Bas-Valais.
