Protected site of national importance

Saint-Maurice's origins date back to the first centuries of the Common Era. The martyrdom of the legionary Maurice and his companions, at the end of the third century CE, brought the ancient village of Acaunus to the attention of the Christian world. Its influence was confirmed by the founding of the Abbey in 515.

As a protected site of national importance, Saint-Maurice is now an exceptional destination offering excursions for a broad range of visitors.

Deep in the heart of the rock strange secrets lie hidden, buried over time by men and nature. It's for you to discover them...
