A place of lifestyle and sports activities

Made available to the population by the Bourgeoisie of Saint-Maurice to which it belongs, the Bois Noir is unique of its kind. One of the oldest pine forests in Switzerland, this is one of the last remaining wild stretches of the Rhone.

This precious habitat for fauna and flora is very much appreciated by walkers, nature watchers and sportsmen with its measured and Vita routes, which you can consult below.

The Bois-Noir takes part in the Fête de la Nature 2020

In order to make these achievements better known to the inhabitants and visitors of our community and neighbouring communities as walking goals, the Forest, Waterways and Landscape Service presents the Bois-Noir as part of the Fête de la Nature 2020. Trails including a guided tour of some of the achievements are proposed within the framework of this event. Schools in the region will also take part in the event.
