Fresco at the cable car station
In July 2022, Saint-Maurice welcomed a street art mural entitled ‘Entrain’ by Swiss artist Cédric Kesa Mabillard. The work has been added to the collection of the Open Air Cantonal Museum, conceived by the Association Art Valais Wallis.
This cable car connects to some of Agaune's iconic tourist attractions, such as the forts and the fairy cave. Visible from the train, its new look allows it to address the theme of water through the spectrum of the imagination and that of dynamism through its wide variety of colours. Saint-Maurice is also a municipality with a rich heritage due to its military and religious past. Its geostrategic location makes it a key location for the canton. Even today, this location shapes the commune's DNA, as Saint-Maurice remains a well-known place of passage and transit. The number of students filling the streets of the town at lunchtime is testament to this high level of activity. The aim of this work was to embody and promote this young, colourful and dynamic image.
This mural can be viewed at any time from the Cindey Fort cable car station, from the cantonal road leading to Chenil de Massongex or from the esplanade of Saint-Maurice Castle.

Cédric ‘Kesa’ Mabillard has been a graffiti artist for over fifteen years. This talented painter and illustrator, whose graphic and dreamlike universe immediately captivated the jury, admits to having taken great pleasure in transforming this corrugated metal cable car station into a unique work of art that is already part of the city's cultural heritage. Skilfully combining different genres, the Valais native has successfully exported his art beyond our borders, notably at various European festivals.
