Café littéraire with Catherine Lovey

Catherine Lovey is originally from Val d'Entremont (Valais). After studying international relations and obtaining a degree in criminology, she worked as a print journalist, specializing in economic and financial issues.
She began writing, publishing a number of works with Editions Zoé, including her first novel, "L'Homme interdit" (2005), which won the Schiller Discovery Prize.
"Histoire de l'homme qui ne voulait pas mourir" (2024) won the Prix Michel-Dentan and the Prix Alice Rivaz. This latest novel tells the story of a man's fight against cancer, through the eyes of a neighbor.
Catherine Lovey also won the Prix Suisse de littérature 2025.

In addition to her novels, she has taken part in various projects, including a literary reportage in spring 2024, entitled "La Russie, sans les visages. And without the names".
In March 2025, she announced that she was preparing two new books, written four-handed: "The first will be very original and enjoyable to read. We're writing it together with Chadia Atassi, a Syrian writer and refugee in Switzerland. The second will be a caustic correspondence with Alioune Ifra Ndiaye, from Mali, as part of the GenevAfrica project."

Come and meet the author at the café littéraire on November 4, hosted by Geneviève Erard, teacher at the Lycée-collège de Saint-Maurice.
Free admission, welcome from 6.30pm, meeting begins at 6.45pm.
