"Dolce e animato
To open this concert, the Orchestre du Collège et des Jeunesses musicales de St-Maurice (OS-m) presents Bruch's Concerto for clarinet and viola. Composed at the end of the composer's life, this rather meditative and interior work brings together two bewitchingly sonorous instruments. The sensuality of the viola and the luminous timbre of the clarinet gently intertwine, carried by the romantic lines and lyrical outbursts of this double concerto. This concerto offers a hushed conversation between two soloists who share confidences.

In the second half, the OS-m will first perform the famous March from Prokoviev's The Love of Three Oranges. It's a march that tickles and makes you smile more than it brings order, for here we are in the realm of the imaginary, where illness can only be cured by laughter...
After this slightly sarcastic appetizer, the audience pushes open the door to another imaginary world, a dramatic one. Dvorak's La Colombe Sauvage, inspired by folk tales, tells the story of a murder, a secret love and a suicide. From remorse to happy memories, emotions tumble, tormenting the listener and taking him to the brink of the abyss.
Liszt's Rhapsodie Hongroise No. 2 closes this concert, between pathetic accents and wild dances. Gaiety bewitches... and the world seems reborn, like spring in winter.
