The "Trompe l'oeil"
This optical illusion representing the Cime de l'Est was painted by the graphic designer, painter and illustrator Dominique Studer. Commissioned by Romuald Coutaz, owner of this building and owner of the pub on the first floor, it was painted on the wall in 3 days in 2012. Intended to conceal the condemnation of a window, it images the exact view that we could observe on the Cime de l'Est if we could stand at the height of the said window.
Ce trompe-l'œil représentant la Cime de l'Est a été peint par le graphiste, peintre et illustrateur agaunois Dominique Studer. Commandé par Romuald Coutaz, propriétaire de ce bâtiment et tenancier de la Pinte agaunoise qui occupe le rez-de-chaussée, il a été réalisé à même le mur, en trois jours, en 2012. Destiné à dissimuler la condamnation d'une fenêtre, il représente la vue exacte que l'on pourrait observer sur la Cime de l'Est, si l'on pouvait se jucher à hauteur de ladite fenêtre et voir à travers les bâtiments.
