Portraits de territoires en écoute

Akio Suzuki, Hiromi Miyakita, Ensemble Ptyx and Christophe Fellay explore places, their memories, their resonances, and bring into play artistic forms that open up new ways of perceiving our environment. Their six-day residency at l'espace parallèle concludes with a public encounter from May 14 to 17 (concerts, performances, listening walks and shared reflections).

Anne-Laure Chamboissier and Christophe Fellay are developing an artistic approach based on active listening to places. Their approach questions the way in which listening, as a sensitive and attentive act, reveals invisible or little-known dimensions of the spaces they pass through.
The project invites sound and music artists to interact with the local area, through a series of appointments, in order to create "Portraits of territories through listening".
At the heart of the project is the notion of active listening. Listening to a territory implies going beyond the purely acoustic dimension: it's about being present, attentive to subtle phenomena, to traces, to stories deposited in forms and materials. Listening becomes a way of perceiving differently.

These six days at l'espace parallèle are organized around a period of in situ research, from May 11 to 13, for the artists (collective exploration of the site, individual appropriation, sharing of experiments and prefiguration of artistic forms) and a period of encounters with the public, from May 14 to 17 (concerts, performances, listening walks and shared reflections with the public).

Sound artist and researcher Benoît Renaudin is doing a doctorate in practice on the notion of "megaphones": sonic border objects that enable a dialogue between territories, humans and non-humans. He is following this residency as an observer.
